Depending on the demands of your course students tend to unwind on the weekends but some can sneak in some fun in and around classes. Here are some activities that we recommend.
On campus social activities – Make the most of student clubs! This a great time to enjoy your hobbies or try new ones. There are a variety of clubs in Performing arts, Fashion, Literature, Politics, Spiritual activities and Sports or you maybe able to set up your own.
Universities’ Student Unions also organise events, field trips and other social activities for students to provide them the opportunities to socialise and get to know other like-minded people. Student held events are also a great place to meet new people and learn new things. So do joy in!
Dining – Since Australia has a diverse culture, there are many dining experiences such as barbecues, seafood, and Asian and Western cuisines. The country is known for its exotic food and wines so there is always something to try.
Outdoor – For students who love the outdoors Australia does not fall short. It’s full of natural wonders and beautiful landscapes. You can go fishing, hiking, take a tour of the Outback or enjoy the beach. Australia has beautiful beaches such as Mission Beach, Surfers Paradise and Bondi Beach. For the more adventurous you can go rock climbing, biking, skiing (during the winter), surfing or visiting the Great Barrier Reef.
Shopping – If you’re looking for supermarkets you can go to places like Woolworths or BiLo. Australia also has Asian supermarkets in some areas and I’m sure you can find something from home. For students who are thinking of gifts or souvenirs to bring back home, you can get an Australia’s wine, a native artefact or an indigenous artwork. Students who love shopping should definitely try cities like Perth and Sydney.
