Bucks New University, a university founded in 1893, is located in Buckinghamshire. It has 2 main campuses, Uxbridge and High Wycombe. Bucks New University or BNU offers a 2 year BSc (Hons.) Nursing and Healthcare Top Up Degree with Optional ONP for foreign-trained nurses.This 2 year BSc course aims to provide overseas trained nurses the opportunity to:
- Develop comprehensive, evidence based knowledge and skills to deliver effective practice
- Evaluate the impact on service delivery to positively influence health outcomes for patients/clients;
- Develop the skills to analyse, reflect and critically evaluate current knowledge base and development practice experience
- Establish key priorities for personal and professional development.
The course is structured in such a way that the first 18 months focuses on the degree course and the latter 6 months covers the Overseas Nurses Programme* or the ONP*, which is free.
During term time, students will have to attend their classes at least 12 hours per week. Plus, students will need to attend learning placement or an on-the-job training for 12 hours a week as well.
