Coventry University Summer Courses

Coventry University has been providing international students the opportunity to experience British culture through their fun and interesting summer courses. By attending Coventry University International Summer Schools, you’ll be exposed to British culture and history while enhancing your knowledge and skills. During your time at Coventry you’ll have access the university’s first class facilities, industry visits, go on cultural trips and visit famous and interesting places.

The university has a wide range of summer programmes in fields such as Marketing, British Culture, Sports, Fashion, Engineering, and Psychology. Their summer courses usually run in two weeks.

British History, Culture and Society (with optional Professional Skills)

Calvary

This course lets you explore the historical town of Warwickshire, West Midlands while learning about the history of the British Monarchy. You’ll also learn about the cultural features of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. You’ll have the opportunity to visit places that have played an important part in the UK’s history, such as the village of Stoneleigh and the Warwick Castle. This course also gives you a chance to enhance your presentation and networking skills.

Shakespeare and Creative Writing

Are you interested in boosting your creative writing skills? This course is the course for you. You’ll cover several tools, skills and techniques that will help you explore different styles of writing. You’ll also have the chance to explore Shakespearean writings were you’ll write your own sonnets, poems or a short story. They’ll be field trips to Stratford-Upon-Avon to see Shakespeare’s house, Oxford and to the Harry Potter World in London.

 

The Sports Industry

With this course you’ll learn about the businesses of sport, study professional sport leagues and acquire knowledge on current issues relating to the industry. Such as the governance of sport, sport sponsorship and ambush marketing, sports law and sports agents and event management. You’ll get to visit places such as the Warwickshire County Cricket ground, Coventry Transport Museum, Olympic Park, and Wembley Stadium. With this course you’ll also be exposed to British culture by visiting Coventry, London, Birmingham, and Warwick Castle.

 

Mobile Phone Apps Development

TabletIn this course, you’ll learn the importance of mobile strategies in businesses. You’ll be looking at how it can significantly increase business performances by interacting with actual organisations. You’ll get to create a mobile app on an Android platform using AppInventor. They’ll be field trips to a marketing agency, the Serious Games Institute and visits to several businesses such as the Jaguar Land Rover and Pro Drive.

 

iPhone Development with Swift

AppsThis course will teach you how to develop apps for iPhone specifically for iOS devices with the use of the latest Swift programming language. You’ll have the chance to use The Studio, a Mac-equipped lab in the Engineering and Computing. As this course requires technical skills, applicants need to have programming experience with an understanding of OOP concepts as an entry requirement.
