How to pick the right university for you!

Auditorium

Here’s some advice that we thought you should consider when picking a university for yourself or as a parent:

  1. Check the university’s rankings based on the field of your choice and find out how they compare with other universities. Universities are usually ranked based on student satisfaction levels in relation to overall course and the teaching. University Rankings are available online on website such as the Guardian and Telegraph.
  2. Research to see if the university has partnerships or connections with industries relevant to your course. This association could help you with work placements or internships that could potentially open several work opportunities for you in the future.
  3. Find a course that best matches your interests as you want to have the best experience possible when studying abroad. Also check if it’s accredited by related professional bodies to ensure the quality of the course of your choice.
  4. Research the university’s culture, environment and style of teaching. It’s important to consider the environment and surroundings as this is where you will be staying for the next few years. Consider whether you’d like a large or smaller campus, a city, a town or an exclusive campus life. Remember to research the university town and surrounding area.
